Accommodating
Students for Test Anxiety
It is normal for all students to experience
anxiety about test taking. However, there are
some who experience debilitating forms of
anxiety around test/exam taking that
significantly impacts exam performance. This is

Students in Emotional Distress
College students typically encounter a great
deal of stress (e.g. academic, social, family,
work, financial) during their educational
experiences. While most students can cope
successfully with the demands of college, for
some, the pressures can feel overwhelming and
difficult to manage. Counselling and
Disability Services offers a Same-Day Crisis
Services designed to assist students who are
confronting life-threatening circumstances,
current or recent traumatic crises, and serious

Faculty Academic Advising
The need for faculty academic advising is well
documented in the research literature on student
retention. Recently, Red River College has also
recognized the significance of student retention
and success to RRC and has examined the issue.
